Smallville Season 7

Posted by Joshua Jabin in Television

It’s hard to know where to start talking about Smallville. There are some seasons of the show that are very good, but a lot of the time, the show is fairly bad. Season Six of Smallville was one of the best seasons to date, but Season Seven is shaping up to be one of the worst. So far, there have been two episodes, and the entire purpose of those episodes seems to have been to negate everything that happened at the end of the last season. Neither Lana or Chloe is actually dead, which is almost disappointing. The show needs new life, and while the inclusion of Kara is interesting this season, both Chloe and Lana have become somewhat stale. I’m disappointed in this. It might be interesting to see Lana come back to Smallville knowing Clark’s secret, but Chloe could easily be taken off the show. Dying to save Lois would have been a perfect way to do that.

I’m sure will play a significant role this season, and I’m not sure how I feel about that. His character seemed to be completely useless in the last season. He was more often included just to keep Clark and Chloe from being able to talk openly than to actually be developed as a character.

While I think Smallville isn’t going to have a great year, other shows, both new and returning look like they’re going to be great this year. (I’ll talk more about these later.) If Smallville doesn’t start doing something new this season, I’ll just watch other shows instead.
